CHRISTMAS is over. We can all go back to hating the Tandas and the Pogis and the Sexys of this world. And the Ma’am Janets and Ma’am Arlenes too.
Staying
For failing to keep his promise to restore power supply by Christmas Eve in all towns ravaged by super typhoon Yolanda, Energy Sec. Jericho Petilla expressed his intention to quit his post. That’s conduct unbecoming of a ‘real’ Pinoy politician.
President Aquino rejected Energy Sec. Jericho Petilla’s resignation. Rumors say Petilla is heard telling the President, “Sir, I failed to keep my promise.” But the President allegedly replied, “Buhay ka pa naman ‘di ba?”
President Aquino rejected the resignation of Energy Secretary Jericho Petilla. And Ruffy Biazon was like, “’k.”
Energy Sec. Jericho Petilla wanted to step down because he failed to do his job. Take that Zenaida Ducut!
Mall Policy
Suspected members of the Martilyo Gang robbed two jewelry stores in two branches of SM Supermalls in 2013. To prevent similar incidents, the PNP is imposing a ban on caps and sunglasses in shopping malls. SM should do its part by imposing a ban on inept security personnel.
To prevent robbery and similar crimes, the Philippine National Police has banned the wearing of sunglasses in shopping malls. That’s totally understandable since wearing of shades in malls is a crime of fashion.
In other news, the PNP has also announced its plan to ban the wearing of coat and tie in Congress.
Honest
A Filipino cab driver in Las Vegas returned a bag containing $300,000 to a passenger. This taxi driver will never be a successful politician in case he forays into politics.
CPP Turns 45
The Communist Party of the Philippines celebrated its 45th anniversary on Dec. 26. In its 45th anniversary statement, the CPP called for the ouster of the president of the Philippines. The statement was drafted 45 years ago.
Boring
President Aquino was quoted to have quipped that it would be boring if the country didn’t have any problems, e.g. his misplaced humor.
Break
President Aquino took some time out to relax by watching the film fest entry “My Little Bossings’ starring his nephew, James ‘Bimby’ Yap Jr. The movie’s about a rich boy who had to adjust to a very unfamiliar environment. Nope, it’s not about Noy and the presidency.
GMA
In the spirit of Christmas, former presidents Fidel V. Ramos and Joseph Estrada separately visited former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center. On Thursday, Malacañang said President Aquino had no plans of visiting her. To be fair to the President, he did remember Mrs. Arroyo on Christmas Day – when he watched “My Little Bossings.”

Sound Bites
“The President strongly believes that the law has to take its course and that accountability must be exacted. The President holds no ill will for the former President.”
~Palace spokesman Herminio Coloma on why President Aquino decided not to visit Mrs. Arroyo
Congratulations to those who passed the UPCAT. To those who did not, all is not lost. May chance pa!
