    1. Our political system including the electoral mechanism is designed to have the same families competing with each other to protect their family interest and sink the country further into a shit hole while entertaining the masses. From the Aquinos to the Zamoras, these are the same family names running the government for in the past 100 years. Every now and then an upstart can break-in via showbiz (e.g, Estrada), coup (e., Trillianes) and the mask of civil society (e.g., Binay) but almost always, they turn out to be even more corrupt than the oligarchic families.

      1. One cannot but feel hopeless, that there will ever be meaningful reforms…the current crop of legislators in both houses have personal interests to protect and engage in horsetrading to perpetuate themselves. You are right…each one for himself.pretty soon there wont be a country for filipinos who have become modern day slaves in and out of the Philippines.Haaay!

We deserve whom we elect.
