a cannibal was walking through the jungle and came upon a restaurant opened by a fellow cannibal. feeling somewhat hungry, he sat down and looked over the menu…
broiled missionary: $ 10.00
fried explorer: $ 15.00
baked politician: $ 100.00
the cannibal called the waiter over and asked, “why such a price difference for the politician?”
the waiter replied, “have you ever tried to clean one?”

me, i would like to believe that, compared to others
anywhere in the world, ours is not as corrupt, as yet…
what i am afraid of is the filipinos’ unusual trait that,
once they’ll imitate something, they will become masters
of it…

you can live in hope but i think philippine politicians have won the masters of corruption prize already.
and that their greed and lack of values have regrettably permeated society at all levels.

Hey, i’ve got the cannibal Pinoy version…
Cannibal A went to restaurant owned by Cannibal B, sat down and read the menu:
adobong pulis P250
nilagang tanod P160
pritong guro P210
inihaw na pulitiko P1,900
pinaupong general P5,000
Can A: Bakit ang mahal naman nitong pinaupong general, specialty nyo?
Can B: Hindi, sa sobrang kapal ng balat, MATAGAL LUTUIN!

Di na nga raw globalization ang nangyayari these days…. Chinesation na daw!
Juicemio! Punta ka sa Divisoria, karamihan ng mga fly by night na pwesto dun eh mga intsik ang nag-ooperate!
Dito sa Middle East, ten years ago, never heard ang mga Chinese contractors and workers. These days, naglipana na rin sila dito, kalaban na rin ng malalaking international contractors sa malalaking projects. Ang mga commodities dito, karamihan na ring gawa sa China.
And as a matter of fact, majority (around 70%) of the sex workers in the UAE are Chinese. Minority lang sina Lola Nila. Ahihihihihihi!

we really have a long history of pabaon system. another pabaon that is usually not discussed on history books is the ‘pabaon’ that the late pres. quezon gave to gen. macarthur “in recognition of outstanding service” article here: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,950249,00.html

At least, the pension of Gen. Aguinaldo seems to be properly documented, whether we agree to it or not. The pabaon system in the military over the past decade (?) was not aboveboard. Itinatago nila. Nahuli lang kasi si Mrs. Garcia kayang nagsipaglutang lahat. Inis siguro ng mga na-expose like the Reyeses, the Ligots, Cimatu, Villanueva, et al. But I find it really amusing wrt Aguinaldo…talagang mga finance mind din pala lahi niya. The Viratas of Cavite are his decendants.
